Sustainability

A net Zero School

Spratton Hall School aims to be a zero net carbon school by September 2028.
We recognise the impact our school has on the environment, and therefore aim to increase our understanding of
sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint, both within our community and in partnership with our external suppliers.

Current Aims

  • Recycle all used plastic, paper, and cardboard.
  • Use our school Eco Club to increase the pupil’s understanding about the environment and to encourage them to think about sustainability at Spratton Hall.
  • Use our Forest School to help inform pupils about the environment and our natural surroundings.
  • Operate a clothes bank and a second hand uniform shop.
  • Reduce, reuse and recycle any technology, including old computers, batteries and ink cartridges.
  • Run a morning minibus service to reduce traffic to school.
  • Continue to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels with initiatives such as our  new solar panels ,and monitoring and reducing electricity consumption.
  • Source local produce where possible.
  • Reduce water consumption by introducing tap limiters throughout the school.
