Reception Study Visit to Coventry Transport Museum (20.1.10)
Categories: News
Great enthusiasm surrounded the Reception children’s first school outing.
Having excitedly boarded the coach, and eagerly clipped our seatbelts on, the children were raring to go. Our day at the museum started with a hands-on road safety session, where the children pretended to be cars and sped around the room making traffic noises, beeping their horns and avoiding collisions! They went on to learn a fun action rhyme, before cutting and colouring a road safety mobile to bring home.
After a delicious lunch, excitement levels soared once more with a look around all the exhibits. The children gazed up at the enormous buses, counted the lights and horns on the vintage cars and puzzled as to where the steering wheel was on the concept car shaped like a slug!
The day’s highlight for many though, was seeing Thrust SSC – the supersonic car with the huge jet engines and very pointy nose that can reach speeds of almost 700mph!
With quite a few asleep on the coach on our return journey – a successful and fulfilling time had been enjoyed by all!
