The last week of the Spring term was very memorable for Year 7 because we spent it on a residential trip to Paris. On our first night we ate toasted marshmallows around a campfire. The next day we met the Queen and Donald Trump – well, what we actually saw were waxwork figures of them in le Musée Grévin! Later that afternoon, we took a relaxing trip down the River Seine on a Bateau Parisien. This day was very busy because we also climbed 1000 steps to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower and then took a lift to the top, from where we saw a beautiful view of the whole of Paris. The next day, we visited the Palace of Versailles and its magnificent gardens. We learnt a lot about King Louis XIV. On our last full day in Paris, we visited Notre Dame Cathedral, Sacré Coeur, Montmartre and La Place du Tertre, where we enjoyed watching painters and street artists. We also took a trip to the Stade de France, where we were allowed to go through the tunnel onto the pitch, as if we were footballers arriving for a match. We stayed in Le Château De Grande Romaine, where PGL organised lots of activities, such as making crêpes and a disco. We were given the opportunity to try some escargots! This was a brilliant week and one of my favourite parts was conducting interviews with French people at the Carrefour hypermarché.
