Welcome to our Forest School – Opening April 2020
Our new Forest School and outdoor classroom located within our 50 acres of grounds will give all our pupils the opportunity to safely enjoy the great outdoors as they learn.
Pre-Prep pupils will have at least one session a week discovering the joyful freedom of hunting bugs, building dens, dipping in ponds, climbing trees and developing their outdoor skills.
Children in the Prep School will use the space to carry out practical and experimental tasks to complement their classroom learning. There will also be scope for some Science, Geography, Art and English lessons to be taught in the outdoor classroom.
The school’s Eco Club will regularly visit the outdoor classroom to help them understand and apply their knowledge about the environment.
The benefits of the Spratton Hall Forest School for our pupils:
- Enhance their emotional and physical well-being
- Improve their self-sufficiency and self-care
- Boost their confidence and self-esteem
- Practise their fine and gross motor skills
Helping children learn these invaluable life skills while discovering the wonder of nature, is just one of the many ways that we are more than just a school.
