Welcome to Spratton Hall, an exceptional independent preparatory day school for boys and girls aged 4 to 13 years.
Spratton Hall is a very special place for children to grow up, giving every single pupil an outstanding start to their education. Few other prep schools can provide the breadth of experience on offer; indeed, as The Week magazine Independent School Guide stated, Spratton is a ‘great school for all-rounders’. This claim is enhanced further by the number of first-class facilities in the school, all set within 50 acres of beautiful, rolling Northamptonshire countryside.
As a truly independent stand-alone school, we are in the privileged position of being able to guide your child on a unique educational journey that focuses on their interests, talents and character. We are not tied to any other schools, and so our children can move onto the school that is right for them. Indeed, we ‘prep’ our Year 8 children for 10 or more different schools each year, with many moving on to many of the top independent senior schools including Rugby, Oakham, Uppingham and Oundle.
Children at Spratton develop an excellent approach to academic work, achieving high standards throughout. About Mr Clarke
Simon Clarke has been Head Master of Spratton Hall since 2014. He has taught in prep education throughout his career, beginning as an English, Drama and Games teacher at Gresham’s Prep School in Holt, Norfolk. He then moved to Millfield Prep in Somerset as Head of English and Director of Drama before being appointed Deputy Headmaster at Spratton in 2007. Simon serves on the IAPS District 10 Committee and is an IAPS Head Sports Rep. He was appointed as a Governor of Gresham’s School in December 2022. He is married to Danny who teaches in Years 4 and 5. They have three children, two girls and a boy, all of whom have gone through Spratton Hall and onto Oakham School.
