On arrival at Howtown Outward Bound, we were immediately faced with a bracing jog and a dip in Ullswater! All groups experienced gorge walking, where we scrambled and climbed up multiple waterfalls whilst water cascaded into our faces. We went on overnight expedition – a journey which involved travelling across water by canoe, and hiking with heavy rucksacks on our backs. Our group rowed, jumped off high rocks into cool water, climbed up Place Fell and descended to cook our tea at 10.00 pm before bivvying under the beautiful night sky. The next morning, we trekked off to Glenridding to catch the steamer back to the hostel. Our week finished by all groups competing in a triathlon where our team skills were tested to the full, consisting of swimming, running and canoeing. We learnt so much and had lots of fun, making great memories in our penultimate week at Spratton.
